The best site I have found is www.cheapflights.co.uk which offer the best prices to all destinations around the globe. You will find links to the Airlines and to online travel agencies. For SLOVAKIA it is best to fly to VIENNA and catch the coach which is about £5.00 and takes around 70 mins to travel directly to Bratislava, as flying into Slovakia you have to go via Prague which is a not only a delay but also more expensive. Prices are about £170.00 return.
More details about Vienna airport can be found at www.viennaairport.com

The coach journey I have not yet experianced but I have been told that it is not the best of ways to travel but can you complain for a return ticket price of about £120.00?
Yes you can. What with 24 Hours of travelling and the possibilty of sitting next to somone who travels like this all the time, thinks it is great and will give you up to date information whilst you are trying to sleep. I am sorry but no thank you it is not for me !
Although you will get to see beautiful Europe.....sorry but I am still not convinced either !

Be prepared for a long journey if you are travelling from England. Firstly choose your route www.cwlease.com and then your crossing http://www.hoverspeed.co.uk/ . Don`t forget to get some kind of breakdown cover as you never know what could lie ahead, after all they all drive on the wrong side of the road.

Slovakia is one of the most beautiful countries I have visited. Although most of my money is spent getting there the prices are pretty good especially for the Beer (Well, I am British after all !) Most of the resturants and bar staff also speak English & German as well as Slovak. Most people are very friendly, helpful and will assist you in difficulties.
The phone network is very old but improving slowley. You can`t receive incoming calls to payphones yet but you can reverse the charges by calling the operator. Mind you, I hope whoever you reverse the charges to either loves you or has plenty of money as it can get quite expensive. Also be prepared for the odd cross line which happens now and again.
The Slovak Koruna (Crown) is not an available currency here in England so you will have to wait until you get there. German Marks and US$ can be taken and used as currency at selected places and even for some Taxis.
